How to Apply
Our online application process has been designed to be quick and easy for schools and colleges to complete.
Our most recent funding round, rapid impact fund Round 8, has closed for applications.
When we decide the dates to open new funding rounds for applications, we announce them here on this page. Once the funding round is open, we use this page to let potential applicants know how to access the application form.
Currently, dates have not been set for the next funding round. The best way of keeping in touch with our work and funding opportunities is to subscribe to our mailing list by completing this quick form. The process, from starting your application when a funding round is open, to being notified whether you have been awarded funding, normally takes around two months.
Stage 1
The application form
We ask you to complete an online form with your contact details, school or college URN and your job title. Once you have confirmed that your application meets the criteria of the funding round, the form gives you an opportunity to tell us:
- About your idea - what do you want to use SCF funding for.
- What you hope to achieve through this funding.
Take time to read the criteria against which your completed application will be judged. Your application needs to be clear, and help us to understand how it addresses these criteria. Our FAQs give you top tips about how to apply, what to consider, and the best way to answer our questions.
Stage 2
Review and decision
Here, you wait while SCF reviews your application. SCF trustees will be involved in the decision-making process. We will notify you of the outcome of your application within six weeks of the application deadline.
Stage 3
Payment
If you are successful, we ask you to:
- Confirm the contact details of the person responsible for using the funding.
- Sign our terms and conditions document (see an example here).
- Send us your bank details.
Additionally, we will ask a selection of successful schools and colleges to carry out our SCF impact measures with a sample of autistic students who will be involved in the funded activity. These will have to be completed in advance of funds being released as baseline data (we’ll also ask you to complete this six months after your funded activity).
We want you to get funding as soon as possible, and the sooner you send us the information we have requested from you, the sooner the funds will be released. This can happen quickly, we aim for this to be within ten working days of you providing all of the required information.
